Program Performance Update

Picture
The following actions have been taken with regards to the HAS QuieterHome Program:

  • The Program’s Policy and Procedures Manual has been completed, with approval from HAS and the FAA.  This manual will be used in the day-to-day activity relating to the HAS Noise Mitigation Program.  There may be updates to the manual, as the program moves forward.
  • The first homeowner informational meeting was held in August 2011.  Approximately 80 residents attended the meeting.  For those that were unable to attend, informational packets were mailed directly to them.  If you have not received your informational packet, please contact us.
  • Letters have been sent to all residents in North Hollow informing each homeowner of the Program phase to which their property has been assigned. There are three phases.
  • All residents are eligible for any one of the three Program options that are offered – Sales Assurance, Transaction Assistance and Avigation Easement Purchase. In order to qualify for the Sound Insulation option, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requires that interior noise levels exceed 45 decibels (dB) in your home based on acoustic testing. Owners of vacant parcels in North Hollow are eligible to participate in the Purchase of Development Rights option for those vacant parcels.
  • Acoustic testing has been completed for 60 homes.  After the testing was completed, and the analysis performed by the acoustic testing firm, a phone call was placed to each of the homeowners to share the results. If a homeowner was not available, a message was left for them to contact us for the results. A letter summarizing the specific results for each home has been sent to the individual homeowner.

  • The FAA has determined that eleven homes are eligible (from the first 60 homes tested) for the Sound Insulation option. We have started the Sound Insulation Design Phase that will be applied to those homes.  We have contacted those residents that will be part of the Design Phase and have completed the initial assessment vist.

  • Reminder letters have been sent to residents in North Hollow that have not yet returned their Program Applications.  A self-addressed, stamped envelope was provided for easy return.  If you still have not returned your application, please do so as soon as possible, so that we have contact information for you.

  • In the letters we have included a sample copy of the Avigation Easement for your review.  Please remember that this is a sample copy only; and there may be modifications.
  • QuieterHome Program website was launched in July 2012 and provides community information, downloadable documents as well as links to program contacts.
